- [Roland David Sweatt.FTW]
David Cook, II was also listed as David Cook Jr. on some records. I have used II and Jr. for his father and Sr. for his grandfather.
David's father was Revolutionary War soldier.
David II married Elizabeth (Betsey) Cady in 1796. It is related by an Elmira expert that theirs was the first marriage in Lindley, Steuben County, NY. In the 1800 census there were 2 females under the age of 10, they being daughters Delilah and Phebe. On November 10, 1819, David and Elizabeth purchased from Lyman Prichard 143 acres in Lawrence Township, Tioga County, PA, which they sold December 6, 1821. David and Elizabeth both signed. On Dec. 21, 1823, David and Elizabeth sold 80 acres in Jackson Township to William and Isaac Wells of Southport, NY. David and Elizabeth both signed, she signing as "Betsey Cook". Elizabeth died July 3, 1830 and David died June 5, 1839. Inventory of his estate filed August 8, 1839 and amounted to $1472.03. At the time of his death he owned a 180 acre farm, 80 acres being improved, bordering the east side of the Tioga River, which was sold in 1842 by sons Hiram and John T., administrators of the estate.

David was 62 years 11 months when he died. Elizabeth Cady Cook was 49 years 5 months, 28 days when she died. David Cook had the following inscription on his tombstone in Lawrenceville: Blessed are the dead, which died in the Lord. Elizabeth had the following on her tombstone in Lawrenceville:
The race appointed, I have met
The combat's o'er; the prize is won
And now, my witness is on high
My record is, beyond the sky.
