Hendrick Brewer was the last of 14 children of William and Lucy Barber Brewer. He married on July 3, 1864. He left 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was a violin and fiddle player. He died 21 days short of his 90th birthday. He was also a horse racer - sulkies. He had 3 farms. He played the fiddle for square dances. Ada Cooke Feller used to go with him and play the piano also. He was the last survivor of the family. He was married at Mrs. Brewer's father's home (Colonel Henry Oldroyd) in Rutland, PA 7/3/1864. One daughter became Mrs. John Sterling of Wells, PA , and another Mrs. Edward E. VanDine of Horseheads. He is buried in Mosherville, PA cemetary. Daughter Nellie married Merritt Cook.

Hendrick and his daughter Nellie went around entertaining. They were written up in the Elmira paper. He played violin and she played the melogian. He wouldn't take her to Roseville or Milelerton because they were "tough" towns.
